According to Dr. Yan Xin, the concept of De has ten aspects: moral behavior, unselfishness, helping others, just, equality, love and respect for all, be truthful and objective, self improvement, integrity. De is the bases for any one to be really successful in advanced Qigong practice.

Scientific study. Yan Xin Qigong has been the foremost pathfinder for the modern scientific study on Qigong and somatic science. Learning Yan Xin Qigong

There are many aspects that one must pay careful attention to in learning Yan Xin Qigong. For beginners, the followings are several important ones:

  1. The first principal method is the '70% cultivation + 30% practice' (7C3P). without the continuous cultivation of De, one will not be able to achieve a highly calm and relaxed mind/body state. As such, one's Qigong practice of specific methods will only have limited effect. Therefore it should be understood that the '7C' is indeed a fundamental technique of the whole method.

  2. Focus on one method. In Qigong practice, a beginner should always focus on a method for a certain period of time before changing to or mixing in other methods. Before reaching certain stage, the Qi energy from different method may be disruptive other than constructive.

  3. Understand Qigong reactions and know how to benefit from them. Yan Xin Qigong practice often quickly produces many different Qigong reactions. The correct way to handle them is to understand that ALL Qigong reactions are normal during practice and beneficiary. Discussion is also very important and helpful.

  4. Pay attention to subtle changes. Qigong is very subtle. Qigong benefit also come in subtle ways often, possibly not from the aspect one expects. Confirmation of positive subtle changes is very beneficiary in Qigong practice.
